M.J. is a native and lifelong resident of Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs. He attended Manitou Springs High School where he received a full athletic scholarship to attend Adams State College in Alamosa, CO to play football and study Criminal Justice. After college M.J. attended the Pikes Peak regional law enforcement academy as well as Pikes Peak Community College where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice. He began working as a Police Officer for the Manitou Springs Police in 1998 and continued until 2001. In 2001 M.J. was hired on the Colorado Springs Police Department where has worked numerous assignments, with his most favorite being the Homeless Outreach Team or (H.O.T.). The H.O.T. has collaborated with dozens of local service providers to better the lives of hundreds of homeless individuals within the city of Colorado Springs. He is one of three Officers of the CSPD to ever be awarded the prestigious International Herman Goldstein Award for Excellence in Problem Oriented Policing. M.J. is married to his High School sweetheart and has two sons whom he coaches their football, baseball and soccer teams.
Debra has been in advertising & marketing for over 25 years. In 2007 she opened a full service advertising agency. Services include: marketing, media planning, media buying, radio production, TV production, graphic design, web site design, public relations and much more.

Steve grew up in Colorado Springs, moving from Dallas, TX in 1970. He graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in 1973 and received his B.A. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1977.
After a stint working with the homeless and mentally ill in a church context in Houston, TX, he returned to graduate school to earn his Masters in Clinical Psychology from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 1987, and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 1992. Executive Director of Homeward Pikes Peak
Dr. Robert J. Holmes is the Executive Director of Homeward Pikes Peak, the coordinating agency for homeless services in the Pikes Peak region. In addition to coordinating the annual $2 million Super NOFA Housing Grant, he coordinates monthly meetings for homeless service providers and an annual conference. In addition, he provides pro bono consulting services for homeless service agencies.
Homeward Pikes Peak also managed the Housing First Program for several years, managed the Homeless Tent Camper Outreach Program which offered help to 700 chronically homeless individuals, and continues to manage two programs for homeless families, specializing in serving women and children. These two programs have reached out to over 300 homeless individuals. Dr. Holmes is an active case manager and does street outreach on a regular basis.

In my East Colorado Springs based private practice, I specialize in the treatment of depression and other mood disorders, alcohol and substance abuse, psychological trauma, intimacy challenges, stress and anxiety disorders, anger management problems, grief recovery and , GED perpetration. Over the years I have worked with many people who have victimized and been victimized by crime and childhood abuse, become addicted to alcohol and substance, are battling depression, grief and anger, are grappling with intimacy and sexual issues, or are just struggling to stay together as a person, a couple, or family. Matthew Parkhouse arrived in Colorado Springs in 1972, after serving as a medic in Vietnam. He was trained as an LPN by the Army. Within months, he was involved with the Terros Hotline, a community crisis and information and referral service. As a representitve of that organization, he was a member of the City-County Taskforce on Emergency Housing that was formed in 1982. From that point on, he worked at many of the agencies that worked with the homeless population. In 1986, he graduated from the Beth-El College of Nursing. He had a leadership role at the Marian House Soup Kitchen and helped found the Clinic attached to the Soup Kitchen. He continued with the Soup Kitchen and Clinic until it was taken over by Catholic Charities in 1995. He also help found the MIssion Medical Clinic, a faith-based free clinic in the community. He was very active, both as a Board member and with front-line service, in a number of agencies. He taught Mental Health Nursing at the Beth-El College of Nursing.
He has always enjoyed riding and working on old BMW motorcycles. He has travelled extensively in a number of countries.
He is married and lives on the Westside of the City.
In the last thirty-plus years, he worked as a nurse, mostly in the evenings and nights, in order to have time to participate in the community during "business hours" . He helped found Harbor House, doing much of the preliminary research on programming that could be replicated in Colorado Springs. He has been a Board Member from that time on. Matt suffered a botched surgery three years ago and is presently disabled. While unable to work as an RN, he continues to serve the community as a member of several Boards (Crawford House, Homeward Pikes Peak, Salvation Army Advisory Board and Harbor House).
