"I'd struggled with alcohol and depression for over 15 years. I'd been to detox over a dozen times and had been in several abusive relationships. Then I got evicted and had nowhere to go. I knew I needed a fully encompassing therapy program and a place to stay without worring about getting kicked out. That's when I was referred to Harbor House. Right now I'm sober going on seven months and it's been so much more real," says Sally a Harbor House resident.
"Without the kind of program that Harbor House provides, it would have been really, really difficult for me to quit alcohol and drugs. Harbor House give me a space to take a breath, a space to be sober" says Albert a long time Colorado Springs construction worker and student. Unfortunately his alcohol and drug use derailed his life and he found himself living on the streest before finding the "godsend of Harbor House.

ALBERT'S SUCCESS STORY
“Harbor House is a wonderful place that an individual (as myself) can come to get help. And not just for addiction, but what’s inside you too. You have a choice here instead. If you mess up once, it’s not a reason to make you leave. I tell everyone about this place. You’re Awesome!”
“Since I’ve been coming to Harbor House (1 year) I always can rely on the support from others (especially Alanna). I’m an older woman in our group and began my ‘trouble making’ in 2004. And in Treatment off and on since 2008 and being a repeat ‘jumper from the wagon’. I have never been so amazed by ANY group setting. I look forward to group every week! Thank you Harbor House”
“I came into this program a hot mess. They welcomed me with open arms and taught me coping skills. However, I relapsed (because of living with an addict) a few times over and they welcomed me back with open arms and loved me until I learned to love myself. I still love me. I leave the group empowered and self-assured and there’s nothing that I can’t talk about that they won’t help me get through. I love this group!”
“This program has been so supportive, identifying with other women with the same problems, I thought I was an outcast, so alone, I can come here be open and honest and not be judged. This is a vital part of recovery. It’s not just about staying sober, but dealing with issues, i.e…abuse, childhood, identifying feelings/emotions, daily life as women in recovery. Thank You.”

Some of Our Success Stories
Successful and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities. They vary in their desires to reach their potential.

"Everything I have, everythiing in my life, I owe to Harbor House" says Henry, one of Harbor House Collaborative's clients. A divorce following an 18-year marriage found him "literally living on the streets -- in my case, on the railroad tracks, and I found myself considering suicide." After a stint in Detox and living in a shelter, Henry heard about Harbor House. "What happended there was nothing short of a miracle. I've been sober for a year and a half; I have a good job and am able to pay child support, and I have a good relationship with my children."
Here's What People Are Saying About Us...
“Harbor House- I can come and vent. There are nice counselors. The counselors are good and attentive during individuals. It’s fun, there’s always food and laughter. “
“This is one of the best groups I have attended. I like it’s just ladies in my group. People have the same problems, the counselors are very easy to get along with, they relate to us and our situations. It’s like sitting down to a family dinner. I have opened up and learned so much. I look forward to my group every week.”
“Harbor House Women’s Group knows how to save a life. I know this because they assisted me back to life. I tried several times to get help in Denver with NO success. Then I was referred to Harbor House and was accepted immediately. Gratitude, love, and admiration for the staff who helped me back to life.”
